Yamaha RX-V373 5.1-Channel AV Receiver

I installed this receiver in the large family room in the basement. Being new to this, it took me a while to hook up and figure out all functionalities. I am quite pleased with the sound using Pioneer SP-PK21BS speakers. Going trough the adjustment process using the supplied microphone made a big difference in the sound experience. I found that the STRAIGHT and STANDARD sound modes fit my taste best. We are using it to watch BluRays and listen to music and it's great. For general TV watching this setup would be completely overkill in my opinion. This is a sophisticated piece of equipment and after going through the full user instructions I can say that some of the negative reviews here were made by people who have not bothered going past the quick start guide. - Customer Reviews
